For sale: one Asus 1000HA netbook, black.
It has a 160GB hard drive and a 10” screen (no dead pixels).
I upgraded the RAM to 2GB.
I also added 802.11n (i.e. fastest Wi-Fi available)
It shipped with Windows XP on it. I have upgraded that to Windows 7 Professional, and it runs very well. (For the technogeeks, it has a 1.6 GHz Intel ATOM N270 Processor) I will include the Windows XP CD that it came with, in case you prefer XP.
It also has the latest version of Microsoft Office on it, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint (which you don’t usually find on netbooks).
One of the original reasons that I bought it was that it could be used to run Mac OS X, and I had it running 10.5.6. For someone who knew what they were doing, I’m sure you could get 10.6 on it as well. The Wi-Fi card was chosen specifically to be compatible with OS X.
The computer works fine. There is nothing wrong with it. However, I have no doubt that we’ll add an iPad to our Mac family, and the netbook never really “fit”.
Originally paid $350 for it, not counting the increased RAM and improved Wi-Fi, upgrade to Windows 7 and Office. It’s easily “worth” at least $500.
That said, I want to sell it. If you’re interested in buying it or have questions, email me at buymynetbook@luomat.net.
I’d totally buy this if it wasn’t for the fact that I already own an Asus Eee PC 1000HE. It’s an awesome netbook, so if you’re in the market for one, give tj a shout!
