Why Twitter Needs a “Mutual Followers” link.

B) There are some people on Twitter so vile and so personally repugnant, it’d be good to know if I’m associated with anyone who follows them so I know not to really trust or respect those people.

This is getting very close to a school yard mentality I like to think has no place here. We are adults and our relationships, on every level, are complicated. I think we should acknowledge that. And if we get to ‘I don’t like you because you like so and so’, well, shit really.
This is not about a schoolyard mentality. It’s about me weeping for an hour because people I like follow someone who daily advocates violence against women and says things like:
“‘Get lost, creep!!’ — I get that a lot from stuck up bitches right before I follow them home and stomp on them till they bleed to death.”
I really don’t think me being disappointed in people who condone that is petty or “schoolyard.” It’s me being completely and totally heartbroken, thinking that maybe I can’t feel safe with some of my peers.
Just because you follow a person doesn’t mean you in any way condone what they say. Wouldn’t it be easier to simply see who the prospective twitterer has starred previously and if they’ve starred anything that was said like what you describe above about stomping bitches, then you can safely decide not to follow that twitterer.
