I’m asking for help
Apple finally turned iTune’s updates on again today. As it turns out, a couple of factually inaccurate 1 star hate driven reviews have been left for Favit. One of them has been voted up to the top position in the store with 4 votes.
If you’ve used Favit and enjoy it, I’d greatly appreciate if you could open iTunes, mark this review as NOT helpful, and ‘report a concern’ about it. If you’d like to leave your own review about Favit too, that would be very welcome, and appreciated.
Even if you’re a favstar user, and haven’t used Favit, and don’t have an iPhone, you can still help me by using iTunes and marking this review as not helpful, and marking some of the more accurate reviews as helpful.
In case you’re wondering what’s inaccurate about this review:
- The title ‘results are not accurate’ - according to what?
- ‘Filtered based on likes or dislikes a particular tweeter’ - The filter works based on stars received, non celeb, non tech, no hyperlinks, not too much whitespace and a couple of other guidelines. There’s many people I like who are filtered out due to their tweets being celeb/tech related, and others in there that make the other half of this claim untrue.
- ‘Ban you from the system’ - 1 user’s been completely banned from favstar, another non-tech/non-celeb has been removed from the leaderboards. Both were for getting very personal with their abuse of me. I do not ban people simply because I don’t like them.
Why do I care about this? Reviews are one of the main influences in a purchaser’s decision to buy or not. The reviews are mis-representing Favit, and will result in people deciding not to buy it. Favstar itself is free, and Favit is a long way off earning even enough to pay the designer for his part in the project. None of this is profitable, or comes close to reimbursing me for one minutes effort. So please, if you appreciate Favstar or Favit, visit iTunes and click a couple of not helpful/helpful links.
If you’ve got an iPhone/iPod or iTunes, go help Tim out. Leaving bad comments on a good app just because you have a grudge against the publisher is such fucking inane bullshit that I just want to whip out my 9mm and start shooting some bitches. Enough said, if you use the app at all, do us all a favit and flag that review.
