Asteroid
My life is a tumbling artifact —
matter cast out into space;
a construct of fear and longing —
on a collision course with a sun
long since forgotten in a childhood
of celestial bodies revolving
around guarded treasures and lies.
Death and sorrow hides its trajectory
as it ambles through hope
like a lifetime spent searching
it is a comet tail blazing bright
through the complete darkness
of the ever unknown.
