Why I DON’T Want to Read Comics

This guy is a jerk. Sounds like one of the idiots who sometimes gave me a hard time in high school.

What an absolute closed minded jackass.

Insecurity does not need a great excuse. If picking on you for reading comic books scores the bully some kind of points somehow, then comic books it is. If you have glasses, you will be four-eyes. If you are gay, or you are fat, or you happen to speak with a lisp, there you go.

There are plenty of narrow-minded and closed-minded people in the world. I tend to let them have their opinions and beliefs as long as they do not harm anybody else in the course of practicing said opinions and beliefs. If this guy doesn’t want to read comics, so fucking what? There are plenty of other people that you could be calling closed-minded jerks because of their actions and their beliefs.

Then again, what does being “open-minded” mean? Give anything a shot once? Sure, I haven’t tried nailing your dog to a door, yet. Dude doesn’t want to read comics, fine. He doesn’t have to read comics.

I don’t want to read the bible. Some people are really into that piece of shit, gay-ass fucking book, and they say that the narrow-minded people that do not read it and do not believe in it will go to hell. Judge me all you want, but the second you try to force me to read the bible (for any reason) will be the day when you get shot in the head for being a dumb fuck.

Maybe he has found his comfort zone and he does not want to stray from it. The gay references were a bit narrow-minded for sure, but then again, the conversation seemed to be fairly informal with some jesting back and forth between interviewer and interviewee.

Sure, he took a piss at our passion, which happens to be comic books, but the way people are calling for his head does not really show any greater understanding on their behalf. They are just as closed-minded for not realizing they are doing that very thing that makes the interviewee wrong in some things he says. Just because you and several thousand of your friends agree that comic books are awesome doesn’t mean that everybody has to like them or want to read them. If they have a different opinion, let them.

Besides, comic-con has plenty of scantily clad females. Maybe he should have been made aware of that fact first? Maybe some photographic evidence of mudkips in body paint and other gems would have gotten his attention?
