7 Things #3: What is your secret nerdome?

I am blazing through these since I missed two days. One more coming after this one.

This might seem strange to the average reader. My secret nerdome happens to be tattoos and body modifications. I only have one tattoo, no piercings as of today, yet I am absolutely fascinated by the concept. I have of course been pierced before. I had three in my left ear, one in the earlobe, two in the upper part of the ear.

My doctor also has a reason to say “what the hell did you do to your nose?” every time she examines it, and it’s not because of my recent “accident” either. I used to have a septum piercing. That’s right. Giant bull horns sticking out of both nostrils. Looked crazy, was crazy, and incredibly weird when kissing girls, sometimes even dangerous if they had piercings in their nose as well.

I have these elaborate plans to get my next tattoo. I have it all sketched out, a background story written, and I want to do it some time soon before I get too old and wrinkly. It’s going to be a 3/4 sleeve on my left arm. I will not tell you the details, because they are private, and the concept is awesome.

I want to re-pierce my ears again, maybe even get some other parts pierced as well. Back in the day when I was pierced, flesh tunnels weren’t really a thing. It was years later that I saw one of my friends with tunnels that I was like, that’s kind of neat, but I wonder what your earlobes will look like when you’re 70.

So that might not be something I go for. I still think about what I will look like when I am older. I never used to. I suppose that thing comes with age. When you realize that there’s actually a possibility that you might live to see your grandchildren around the Christmas tree as opposed to lying dead in a ditch at the age of 18.

So, that’s my secret nerdome. Several of my friends from Sweden were really big into it, so naturally I was around it a lot. One of them even has a body-mod studio in Gothenburg. I will skip the branding part though.
