Pretty sure that Walter Bishop is programming you as a cow milker slash serial killer with that thing.

The “Brain Melter”
(This could be a truthful Tuesday post because it’s a little nutty.)
When I came home angry today, I decided I needed to meditate. This is the tool I use to help me with that.
I jokingly call it the brain melter but it’s an audio visual synthesizer. I first tried one at the sensory deprivation place in Chicago before I floated. I didn’t have a lot of time to float and this is touted to help you relax so you spend less time acclimating your brain to the sensory deprivation.
When I tried it, it really worked for me. It’s a synchronized combination of colors and sounds. The colors and sounds are designed to try and stimulate your brain wave pattern to a desired state. You put on the glasses and head phones and close your eyes. There are electronic sounds in your ears and through your closed eyes, you see something akin to a laser light show.
There are programs for learning, energizing your mind, rejuvenating, visualizing goals, meditating, etc. There are programs of different durations, so you can choose a program that fits in your schedule. I’ve used mostly the rejuvenating and meditating programs. I bought this unit off of amazon quite a while ago.
For me, it seems to work great. If I clear my mind and concentrate on my breath, I seem to relax quicker. If my mind seems to not be focusing, the light and sound slow my thoughts down and help me clear my mind.
So, yep, this seems to work for me. It’s a little ‘out there’, but I’m glad I found out about this technology and I’m glad they make relatively affordable systems for home use.
