They’re protesting the 325-to-1 ratio between CEO pay and average worker pay. Executives are doing extremely well. But the people whose labor creates the products are left behind or laid off or forced to work part-time w/o benefits.
You know, they protest the same things in Sweden. The ratio is different, but still significant. Let’s not even mention the salaries that politicians, lawyers, and doctors haul home. If people want salary equality, they’re 30 years late because the CCCP has been dismantled. I guess there’s always China to move to. Funny thing is, Sweden’s government style is more along the lines of what people are wanting here in the States.
Does this mean that I approve of the current conditions? Hardly. There are quite a few things that are messed up with America’s economy and political system. How many people would it take to change these things, and would they be able to change it peacefully and yet maintain stability in a country that already teeters on the edge of some degree of disaster? Those are very relevant questions, and since I have no clear idea of the resources required or a fix on the percentage of success, I will remain in the sidelines, cat-calling the rest of you. ;-)
